To me, it’s simple – I cherish my time with CC@S, I will continue to be part of it, and I hope that future generations will always have the opportunity to engage with this community at Stanford and beyond. Because no matter where we start, we can all “go on well and end well.

As an undergrad student, I attended the Sunday evening Mass on campus at Memorial Church regularly. For me, it was a weekly source of comfort amidst the stress and chaos that was life as a Stanford student-athlete. The start of that student-athlete career had been harder that I had anticipated, and my confidence was struggling. Every Sunday, I sat in the same seat in Memorial Church. Over time, I noticed a quote on the church wall right next to my seat that said: 'We must not desire all to begin by perfection. It matters little how we begin provided we be resolved to go on well and end well.' It was exactly what I needed. I continued to sit next to those words every week and took them with me for the rest of my career. This strength helped me 'end well.' On my graduation day, I took a photo next to this wall in Memorial Church, and it's framed in my home to this day. Every time I look at it, I think of my journey and it started with CC@S.
