The Problem isn’t fixed. The President’s recent action rescinding the Department of Homeland Security policy of separating families arriving at the U.S./Mexico Border is stops a traumatic practice, but it does not remediate the damage done. There is a continuing need to help these families in the days ahead. Legislation is still needed. The larger issue of immigration reform remains a contentious issue because we have not defined the problem. We have made the refugee and the undocumented a scapegoat for a host of other problems.
