Fr. Fields is an expert in philosophical theology and the history of Christian thought. He is the author of Being as Symbol: On the Origins and Development of Karl Rahner’s Metaphysics and numerous scholarly articles. He is also former president of the Jesuit Philosophical Association.

The Thomistic Institute exists to promote Catholic truth in our contemporary world by strengthening the intellectual formation of Christians at universities, in the Church, and in the wider public square.
