Fr. Chrysostom Mijinke, O.P.

Born near Vancouver, Fr. Chrysostom Mijinke, O.P., was raised in a Catholic family, attended Catholic schools, and spent many summers working in British Columbia’s salmon and fishing industry. A powerful encounter with God as a teenager led him to make Jesus the center of his life and awakened a calling to the priesthood. He later spent several gap years traveling, working in the oil and gas industry, and in hospitality in Banff, Alberta. During those years, he encountered young adults dissatisfied with worldly pursuits and hungry for the Gospel. He was drawn to the Dominican charism of preaching for this reason, and entered the Western Dominican Province in 2013.

Ordained in 2021, Fr. Chrysostom served as a campus minister at the University of Washington and as director of graduate and young professional ministry. In 2025, he was reassigned to campus ministry at Stanford University, where he directs graduate and postdoctoral ministry.

He is passionate about preaching, God's healing ministry, and outdoor adventure ministry, such as hiking, overnight backpacking, and trail running.

Fr. Chrysostom completed his undergraduate studies at the Seminary of Christ the King in Mission, British Columbia. He holds a Master of Philosophy and a Master of Divinity from the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology in Berkeley, California, and has completed the three-year Encounter School of Ministry program.
