Andres Parra
FOCUS Missionary
About Andres
Andres Parra grew up in a devout Catholic family in Delray Beach that gave him a strong foundation in the faith. Thanks to welcoming, vibrant Catholic communities like Stanford’s in both undergrad and grad school, Andres learned to put Christ at the center of his life. There, he felt a calling to campus ministry. He’s overjoyed to begin his first year as a FOCUS Missionary at Stanford, to get to know the Catholic Community at Stanford, and to welcome others into the Body of Christ.
Andres received his Bachelor’s in Biomedical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2024 and his Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University in December 2025. Before starting as a missionary, he worked as a fill-in theology teacher at a Catholic high school, which further cemented his love of ministering to students. He loves learning and talking about the faith, doctrine, biotechnology, bioethics, and miscellaneous interests like the superhero genre or the nature of humor. In his free time, Andres loves playing board games, doing karaoke, exercising, and playing spikeball, and hopes to learn how to surf in California!
