Film Study Group - Wings of Desire

online via Zoom

Please join the Stanford Catholic Film Group on Monday, September 22, to discuss Wings of Desire (1987). A romantic fantasy film directed by Wim Wenders, the film is about invisible, immortal angels who populate Berlin and listen to the thoughts of its human inhabitants, comforting the distressed. One of the angels falls in love with a beautiful, lonely trapeze artist, so he chooses to become mortal. It appears in Roger Ebert’s Great Movies list, and won for Best Director at the 1987 Cannes Film Festival.

We’ll be meeting at 7:30 on Zoom. The movie is available on many platforms, including FREE on Kanopy! https://www.justwatch.com/us/movie/sky-over-berlin

It was remade in the US as City of Angels which you can watch for extra credit!

If you haven’t joined the group yet, please also send an email to stanfordyrcfilm@gmail.com, with message “I’m interested”. The Zoom link will be sent to the group the day before by email.

Everyone is invited!
